How to Earn a Dental Assistant Certification

in Examination

Getting a dental assistant certification officially indicates your status as a dental assistant. It is important as people tend to judge you with the certificates that you have. It also serves as a proof of your professionalism in providing quality service. However, sitting for an examination will always cause unusual anxiety to the candidates. Thus, it is better to equip yourself with enough preparations.

First and foremost, to ease the anxiety that you may have, is to know the format of the examination. By doing so, you will be able to expect how the examination paper looks like as a whole. There are three components for the examination, which are General Chair Side, Infection Control, and Radiation Health and Safety. Each of them consists of 120, 100 and 100 multiple choice questions respectively. The examination is available in written and computer-based forms. All the questions are to be completed in 4 hours.

Another tip will be looking for a study guide. Before that, you have to make sure that the guide is written by experienced writers who are very familiar with the related field topics and subjects to excel in the examination. If you are able to obtain a copy of the guide, you just need to put some time to study it.

Nowadays, you can't expect instructors or lecturers to spoon-feed you with everything. You have to take the initiative to search for extra information to enhance your knowledge relating to what you have learned in the classroom. You are certainly a good student if you are doing this without being asked.

After you have finished your revision, you should take a self-assessment quiz to evaluate how well you have got yourself prepared. Assuming that you are not doing so well in your first self-assessment quiz, quickly do something to improve your score before time is running out!
